I was wondering if it is possible that a rhinoplasty will also help decrease my under eye bags? I am hoping that when I have my rhinoplasty done, it will also help smooth out my under eye bags (which show even with makeup). Is that possible or would one need fillers to correct under eye bags?

Answer: Rhinoplasty and eyebags Rhinoplasty does not treat under eye bags however in the next few months following the surgery there will be some swelling at the transition of nasal sidewall to the cheek which might affect the aesthetics of that area temporarily.

Answer: Does rhinoplasty help with under eye bags too? A rhinoplasty will not decrease your lower lid bags. They can be improved at the same time with a variety of different procedures including: fillers or micro fat grafts of the tear troughs, a lower lid blepharoplasty, a combination of procedures.Keep in mind that following the advice from a surgeon on this or any other website who proposes to tell you what to do and technically how to do it without examining you, physically feeling the tissue, assessing your desired outcome, taking a full medical history, and discussing the pros and cons of each operative procedure would not be in your best interest. I would suggest you find a plastic surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and ideally a member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) or facial plastic surgeon (otolaryngologist) that you trust and are comfortable with. You should discuss your concerns with that surgeon in person. Robert Singer, MD FACS La Jolla, California
