Insurance coverage for septorhinoplasty? Each policy is different. We do an exam and send the information to the insurance company and they then will tell us. Remember to have a very experienced rhinoplasty surgeon that does natural noses do your nose. 

You should visit a board certified rhinoplasty specialist who can help you predetermine the level of coverage your insurance company will provide for this procedure.

Insurance complainers are notoriously bad about covering rhinoplasty.  Even if they do approve it, they are likely to only pay a small portion of the overall cost.  My impression is that they will consider your case to be largely cosmetic.

Cosmetic issues like a dorsal hump are typically not covered by insurance, even if they arose from trauma.  It would be possible to submit doctor's notes to the insurer to see if the authorize the surgery before hand.  If they do, they should cover it although there have been cases where preauthorized surgeries where denies after the fact.  If you do end up having to pay for it, it may be in the $5k range.

Dear rhinoplasty132, After consultation and direct examination the surgeon will be able to discuss what needs to be corrected from your previous traumas to the nose. In my practice the patient brings their insurance card in with them. We copy it and send it to our billing agency with the diagnosis. The insurance billing company then sends a note back typically in 24 hours stating the % breakdown the insurance company will pay and what the patients deductible is and if pre certification is required. Most surgeons offices give complimentary consultations so the best advice would be to seek some consultations from experts in the field of rhinoplasty/septorhinoplasty, have an examination to determine the cause of your current complaints, look at before and after photographs, have imaging done to show you any proposed aesthetic changes and then the surgeon can quote you a price based on the necessary procedures to be done. First you need to have an examination to determine what needs to be done with your nose. Typically my staff will then help you communicate with  your insurance company to determine what costs they will cover to repair  problems caused by your previous nasal trauma.
