Uneven Nostrils 2 months Post Rhinoplasty (Photo)

Thank you for sharing your questions and photographs.  And only 8 weeks postoperative from rhinoplasty, you undoubtedly have significant continued swelling of the nasal tip, nostrils and nasal dorsum.  In fact, swelling after primary rhinoplasty surgery takes at least one full year to completely resolve.  For this reason, most rhinoplasty experts recommend waiting at least a full year prior to undergoing a revision surgery.  There are rare reasons for performing surgery earlier than one year.  However, this is generally done no earlier than 6 months following the primary operation. At only eight weeks, I would strongly suggest you (1) wait the full year prior to undergoing a revision procedure and (2) seek a second opinion regarding a revision rhinoplasty operation. Uneven nostrils can be a relatively common problem for patients with larger noses and thick nasal tip skin.  Although the cartilage underneath may be symmetric, thick nasal tip skin prevents you from seeing it.  Your nose will continue to change over the next several weeks to months, and a revision earlier than 9-12 months is usually not recommended.  I would wait at least 6 months, and if still asymmetric, address your concerns for earlier revision, as continued asymmetry at 6 months will not improve.

The recovery after open rhinoplasty, especially in the collumela and tip may be prolonged so its hard to be definitive about the nostrils this early. You definitely should NOT have a revision in 8 weeks or even 8 months.Your nostril assymmetry may very well be due to the swelling.
