Is it possible to surgically lower the height of eyebrows? (photo)

Someone might be foolish enough to actually do it! Unfortunately direct brow surgery leaves horrible scars. The real question is why do you carry your eyebrow this high? The answer is that you most likely have an early levator aponeurosis tendon disinsertion. That means the tendon that raises the upper eyelid is coming loose. A detailed clinical consultation can diagnosis this.  The answer is to perform an anchor blepharoplasty and repair the tendon.  When this is done, the brow will relax into a more natural position.
By the way, the lip lift produces a horrible, disfiguring facial scar that is never right.  

Lowering the brows effectively is much more challenging than raising brows.  I would not recommend any method placing an incision along the brow as it leaves a visible and usually unsightly scar.  I do think eyebrows can be effectively lowered from a surgical overcorrection with an endoscopic release, since yours seems to be the native position of the brows the result would be less certain.

Thank you for your question. The most often used and most effective method for the brow lift is the endoscopic procedure. A brow lift will reposition the brow shifting the wrinkles and repositioning a sagging brow. I suggest that you move forward and consult with a board certified facial plastic surgeon to learn more about your options.

In a case like yours, surgical lowering of the eyebrows would not be an option.  I do feel that with an eyebrow transplant, your eyebrows could be shaped and lowered (within reason) as desired, regardless of any possible aponeurosis tendon weakness if it even exists.

A conservative upper eyelid blepharoplasty may allow you to relax the muscles that hold your eyebrows in an elevated position.  See an expert to get an evaluation and to discuss options.  I do not believe a surgical procedure to lower your eyebrows is a good idea. 

We all should be so lucky. It is more common a request from patients to get eyebrows like yours. I would not fool with this. They will get lower over time. You may benefit from a conservative upper eyelid blepharoplasty to help balance out the appearance of the upper third of  your face.

This is a very challenging question. Your answer will depend on  many factors. If your appearance is post surgical form a previous brow lift, then the solution is a different one than if you haven't done any surgery.  Your best  option to lower your brows with the least amount of risks in my opinion is neuromodulators such as Botox. Since you do not want this modality, a surgical approach in my opinion carries a bigger risks with a potential possibility of you not being happy with the results. Removing excessive skin on your eyelids just under the brows is an option to create a more symmetrical balanced look to your eyes amd MAY bring the outer corner of your eyebrows down but not without risks. I would tread very lightly in a surgical approach to our solution. Hope this helps.

Your eyebrows are in a normal position above the orbital rim. They have a natural arch - and this gives you a bright, natural appearance. It is not wise to make an incision just below the brow as this would be grossly visible, and possible interrupt important neurovascular structures. If anything, a conservative blepharoplasty might give the appearance of a shorter distance between the lid crease and brows. Makeup is a great option - eyeshadow on the lid, and brow pencil on the lower edge of your brows... Might want to try the makeup option first - if you place a little brow color below the arch in the center, slightly widen the medial brow, and then add some color above the tail end of the brow - your brows will appear flatter. If you don't like putting on makeup, you might consider micropigmentation or microblading to alter the appearance of the brow. Best wishes.
