I had Voluma in 2014 and was pregnant with my first child about 6 months later, didn't experience complications. I'm currently nursing my second child and am also interested in having more children in the future. Can i stop nursing, get a more permanent nonsurgical nose job like with Bellefil and then become pregnant again. Would the chemicals affect the subsequent pregnancy at all?
Answer: Non Surgical Rhinoplasty or Nose Job — Juvederm, Restylane, Vollure, Volbella, Voluma, Radiesse, Bellafill, Lyft, Refyne, Defyne If you stop nursing (and even with nursing) you can get filler injections to the nose. If you like your results with Voluma, you will love your results with Bellafill. The only issue is that if a complication were to occur or if you want to get a surgical rhinoplasty the filler may pose a risk to you. Bellafill Non Surgical Rhinoplasty injections are best done over numerous sessions, spaced about six to eight weeks apart so that collagen can build over time and slowly correct the indentations or irregularities. Bellafill is different than Voluma, Juvederm, Radiesse or other fillers because it works by building collagen slowly. Most physicians see no complications with nose injections although this area has more risk of necrosis, swelling, or vascular occlusion either by frank bad luck or poor technique. The main ingredient in Bellafill is an inert surgical acrylic or plastic and you need a skin test prior to treatment.Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: I believe you are a better candidate for rhinoplasty surgery. Based on your photos, you appear to have a large dorsal hump and an acute nose lip angle. Did a permanent non-surgical nose job treatment may require too much product to camouflage your large hump. Additionally, this would not lead to any tip lifting at all. I hope this helps. Sincerely, Dr Joseph

Answer: Permanent Non Surgical Nose Job and Pregnancy Hi and thanks for your question. The short answer is yes, you should be able to stop nursing, get the procedure and get pregnant again without an issue. Also, if you like your results with Voluma, you will love your results with Bellafill. The only issue is that the Bellafill Non Surgical Rhinoplasty procedure is best done over two to three sessions, spaced about six to eight weeks apart. Bellafill is different than Voluma in that it works mostly via stimulation of your own collagen. In order to get the correct level of stimulation, you have to have a couple of injection sessions. I have done about 1000 Bellafill nose procedures and have seen no complications more serious than some swelling or a bruise that resolved within a short period of time. The main ingredient in Bellafill is an inert surgical plastic. It has been in use for 50 years within orthopedics and ophthalmology and, out of the thousands of people who have become pregnant while it is in their body, there has never been a report of it causing a problem. Hope that helps. Feel free to call us anytime with further questions!

Answer: Pregnancy and fillers Hi there. Great question. Getting fillers done when finished nursing and before becoming pregnant is perfect timing. For your reading enjoyment, here's a fun explanation for you...We can't officially "recommend" using any fillers while pregnant or nursing for the simple fact that we haven't tested them on that population...and it's unethical to do so! While it's PROBABLY safe, when pregnant, there's so much fluid shifting going on, especially in the face, that I won't dare add filler to the mix! Your metabolism does change when you're pregnant, so there's a chance that it could affect the breakdown of your fillers over time, but it's hard to say which way! I'm a Certified Nurse Midwife as well, so I love when I get questions with any mention of pregos and nursing mamas! A word of caution as far as filler, consider using a filler that is reversible in the nose. The biggest risk with this area is compromising blood flow and the only way to UNcompromise it is to dissolve. If you're set on doing Bellafill in the nose, be sure to make sure you see someone extremely experienced! Best on fillers and babies! @DrKatNP.trilogy

Answer: Bellafill in the nose Voluma and Bellafill can create the same beautiful results in the nose. Bellafill however is composed of a non-absorbable material which stimulates your body to create its own collagen. This mean the Bellafill cannot be undone in the nose. When Bellafill is being used in the nose, the filler should be placed conservatively with a little done at a time spaced out over several months to maximize safety and results. Hope ths helps!
