How long is the risk of "oil cysts" after BBL?

Question

I am 10 days post op and had a cyst filled with oil aspirated by my PS. When am I no longer at risk to develop another oil cyst? Can these cause deformities and irregularities of the buttocks contour?

Oil cyst conform for multiple reasons.  During liposuction a combination of fat oil and numbing fluid is removed.This aspirate is usually separated and the watery component and oil components are removed prior to fat transfer. That oily component comes from fat cells that have been destroyed from the drama of the liposuction procedure. The fat that is stored inside the fat cells is broken down and becomes oil. The breakdown of fat cells with the release of the oil can happen immediately during the procedure or during the healing phase when fat cells do not survive and become necrotic. This process typically happens within the first few weeks. The breakdown of necrotic fat can lead to firm areas and as either dead fat or oil gets absorbed the areas can leave volume deficit.
