How long after Tummy Tuck can I have another procedure like Breast Lift

Hello, I recently had tummy tuck but I'm also interested in breast lift. How long should I wait until I can have the next procedure? What is the best estimated wait time? Please let me know. Thank you!

I often will do these two procedures at the same time.  If you have had your TT already, I would suggest waiting until you feel physically ready.  4 weeks would be an ample amount of time.  Most patients could have the surgery sooner.

Generally each surgeon is different with their approaches. I usually do both at the same time although it varies from patient to patient. Given you have already done the tummy tuck I would suggest waiting 2 months before the breast lift.

This can take up to 8 weeks.Also, are you at a stable weight currently? You want to make sure your weight is stable and at your goal to optimize your results.Are you breast feeding or plan to have any other children. Good Morning.  Thank you for your question. Sometimes in my office we do multiple procedures during the same day.  However, now that you have already had the TT, I would suggest you heal first before having your breast aug.  Your body is now in recovery mode and anything added at this time is just extra stress that can take away from your healing.  Waiting at least 6 - 8 weeks will give your body more strength to deal with the recuperation from the breast surgery itself.  I hope this helps a little.  If you are going to the surgeon who did your TT, then I would refer to him as he may have his own set of protocols for back to back surgery. If you are looking for a new surgeon, make sure you seek out a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon who specializes in Breasts!!  Best Wishes!

I typically recommend 3 months between a tummy tuck and additional procedures.    I will routinely perform a tummy tuck with a breast lift if a patient desires both procedures.     Depending on your medical history, pain tolerance, and how quickly you heal; it may be possible to proceed sooner or may require more time to proceed safely. A good general rule is to allow about 3 months between procedures.  Remember that you will have to lay flat during surgery, which must be approved by your tummy tuck surgeon.  Good luck!

It is very common to get an abdominoplasty and breast lift at the same time, but if you didn't for whatever reason, most recommend waiting several weeks before going back under general anesthesia.  After surgery, your body is in a pro-inflammatory state and more prone to develop things like blood clots.  Compounding that with more surgery can make things worse.  See if you can wait 6-8 weeks and then do your second surgery.

Dear zartsrun:Many cosmetic surgeons will combine procedures to provide a faster recovery. Sometimes it is best for the patient to stage the procedures so you will receive the most optimal healing of each individual surgery. This is the case with some breast lift techniques and tummy tuck since some of the circulation is the same to heal both areas.It is my recommendations for patients to wait 3 weeks or longer between such procedures for circulation to readjust. Many patients wish to become fully mobile and feeling optimal before returning for another recovery. Since I recommend patients to plan 6 weeks recovery following a tummy tuck and 3 weeks following a breast lift, both can be performed within the same convalescence. I hope this has been helpful! Although the breast lift recovery time will not be as extensive as the tummy tuck, you should probably give yourself 6 to 8 weeks in between surgery to be safe.
