When I am not smiling my upper lip seems offcenter, my left side of my upper lip seems almost short and not quite full enough. What would be more beneficial to correct this offcenteredness and my slightly gummy smile: Botox for my upper lip muscles to not pull so much, or juvederm to plump my upper lip more so it covers my gums and balanced out?

Answer: Improving Lip Symmetry and Shape with Lip Augmentation--Fillers (Juvederm, Restylane, Volbella), Implants, Fat, PDO Nova Threads
It sounds all great but it is not at all good. The treatment is freezing and dropping muscles that you absolutely need to have working. It is extremely dysphoric and debilitating to have these muscles frozen with botox. Unfortunately it will take months for this effect to wear off.
From the photo it appears the asymmetry could be improved with filler. If desired a small amount of Botox could be added if the asymmetry correction is not sufficient with HA fillers. Be sure to see an expert injector for your treatment.
If the tip of your nose is being pulled down when you smile, a more permanent way to improve that problem would be to surgically resect that muscle (the depressor septi nasali). This can be performed alone, or as part of a rhinoplasty (should you so desire).Andrew Campbell, M.D.Quintessa...
