I have always been extremely self conscious about this, especially when having sex. Would it be possible to remove all the fat on my large mom pubis? How much does a procedure like this typically cost?
Answer: Monplasty with liposuction and Tummy tuck Hi Top67,Thanks for the question and the photographs. They certainly help with your question. It would be possible to remove the majority of the fat in that area, but remember that some fat must be left behind for contouring and to allow the tissue(skin) to glide on the muscle/bone in that region. I think however, that it would give you a result that you would be unhappy with as it would result in excess skin despite that the fat would be gone. It would however increase the show of the remaining body parts which could be considered a bonus. A surgery to remove the extra skin could be done alone or in conjunction with an abdominalplasty or alone. Cost would certainly vary. I know that the cost would go up if you decided to do a removal of the skin with the liposuction of the mons area. It usually runs about 2-5k for lipo and a monsplasty plus anesthesia and facility fees here in the phoenix area. Remember that it should be about your expectations and not cost. Pick a surgeon who you feel comfortable with and that seems fair in what they are promising and cost. Good luck.Sincerely,Carlos Mata M.D., M.B.A., FACS

Answer: Liposuction of the Mons Pubis Thank you for the photos. Based on the amount of skin over the mons pubis, I do not think that liposuction alone will flatten the area. A combination of lift with liposuction or direct fat removal would likely be more effective. The mons lift removes the excess skin and tightens the area. This could be combined with a tummy tuck to remove the loose skin from the lower abdomen too.A word of caution. If the fullness is due to lymphedema, rather than fat, you will be more likely to have return of the fullness in the area regardless of the procedure used. Consult a board certified plastic surgeon in your area for an examination and to review all of your options.

Answer: Mons pubis liposuction -- BEST with VASER HI Def This area can be treated with VASER liposuction but based on your pictures you also need the area to have skin removal for an optimal outcome. Please see an expert who does both these procedures together like I do in my practice. Best, Dr. Emer.
