Almost 12 days post abdominal and flank Tumescent liposuction. Started to have occasional stitching pain or side abdominal cramp to the sides of the umbilicus. Sometimes with sneezing specially while sitting. 1) Is that normal?. 2)And if normal how long it will last?. I am active .3) Am I considered now out of the woods for complications?

Thank you for your question. It is completely normal to have soreness following abdominal and flank liposuction. This can last 4 - 8 weeks following the procedure. I suggest you have close follow up with your plastic for an in-person physical examination and to address your concerns. Good luck with your recovery.

It is normal to have aches and pains after liposuction.  If you are concerned please speak to your physician.  In my practice you would be doing hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage at this time.   compression is very important. Best, Dr. Emer.
