There is a layer of skin protruding from the inner corner of my right eye. Can anyone assist / determine and resolve? (Photo)

Question

The protruding layer of skin in the inner corner of my right eye does not hurt, but my eye does tear a lot and there seems to be eczema on the upper and lower lids of my eye. What should I do to resolve this problem? I did go to an eye doctor and was told that it is conjunctivitis (cannot recall exact name) and that I should purchase Zaditor and eyelid wipes, which I did, and that it should resolve the issue. Would really appreciate any feedback. Thank you.

It appears you have a growth coming from your eyelid. See an ophthalmologist or oculoplastic specialist for evaluation.

Thank you for sharing your photograph.  It is unclear from the photos you have submitted what this may be.  It may be coming from the lining of the eye (the conjunctiva), the fleshy tissue in the corner (caruncle), or the eyelid itself.  Either way, it warrants assessment by an oculoplastic surgeon and possible biopsy.

You seem to have a growth either coming form the eyelid or the inner corner of the eye (caruncle). You should see an Ophthalmologist or Oculoplastic surgeon for an in-person exam.

Tough to determine what this is from the photograph. (Could use a closer view with better lighting.) There are normal structures there - the caruncle and plica which can protrude if swollen. Also this is an area where cysts and papillomas can occur. You might be seeing swollen conjunctiva which covers the sclera (white) of the eye, the back of the lid, and the deep pocket behind the lid. Your problem is in the realm of the ophthalmologist, so you could return to the one you have seen for a followup - or you could seek a second opinion. Best wishes on your decision.
