How much increase in volume can be achieved with Sculptra injected into the butt?

Question

I'm planning on getting 12 vials of Sculptra injected into each butt cheek (24 total). I'd like to have some objectivity to the description of "modest" results. The area I'd like to get injected in each butt cheek is no larger than a 4 in diameter circle. Would a 1 inch projection in the injected area be possible with Sculptra? Also, is there a cap to how much collagen your body can produce in a specific area, no matter how much sculptra is injected? Thank you!

Hi Jaydee,12 vials of Sculptra in a 4 inch diameter cirlce is excessive.  The amount of collagen produced by an individual varies so it is difficult to give you an accurate answer on the amount of projection that you will achieve.  I would advise dividing the number of vials of Sculptra over multiple sessions over time until you reach your desired goals.  Good luck and be well.Dr. P

Yes, Sculptra can be used to improve the shape of the buttocks. Keep in mind, the buttocks need numerous vials of Sculptra over time to build volume, and in some instances the results are subtle and will need to be combined with fat or implants to achieve desired results. Without an in-person examination it's hard to completely answer your question, but 24 vials of Sculptra for the area you describe sounds like a lot. I usually start with 10 vials total and take it from there. It's important to understand that Sculptra results develop slowly over the course of 3-6 months. Multiple sessions are needed, and results will never be as dramatic as a Brazilian Butt Lift. Injecting too much into one area or at an improper dilution can lead to overvolumization and nodule formation which usually cannot be reversed. Make sure you are under the care of an experienced physician. Best wishes.

Sculptra me is a great product for buttocks enhancement as well and enhancement in other parts of the face and body. We have been using Sculptra for over 24 years with a great deal of success. What you need to understand though is that Sculptra expands over a 6 to 12 week period and if too much material is placed in any given area and overcorrection may result and it is very difficult to treat. A 4 inch in diameter depression receiving 12 vials of Sculptra sounds a bit too much. You would be better off in administering even less than 1/2 of the vials indicated, wait approximately six weeks and add more only if necessary. I hope this helps and good luck from New York City
