No one can predict when hair cloning will be a reality for cosmetic procedures. It's anyone's guess.
I have been responding to this question in the last 10 years and my answer has not changed since! Hair multiplication, also referred to as hair cloning is a procedure in which a few hair will be removed from the donor area and multiplied and transplanted to the balding area. If becomes available hair cloning will be the best solution for hair loss sufferers who don't have enough hair to donate to the balding area. There have been may studies that guided us to understand the mechanism of hair multiplication better. Hair multiplication was even done in animals and volunteer patients. However, no one has started the process of phase III study to prove its long term efficiency and safety. If anyone starts this study tomorrow it will usually takes 8-10 years for us to have something practical assuming that all studies go well and they don't prove to be harmful to the recipients of cloned hair.
The answer is yes. Pretty near every organ in the body is being cloned in the laboratory at the present time. Hair is no exception. However, the technology to clone and transplant hair follicles and other organs is not at a point to open it up to the public. I personally believe that cloning and transplanting hair will be possible sooner than ten years; however, I do not know how much ssooner.
Cloning has been coming for a long time with promises of all sorts that failed to materialize. There may be some for of hair replication within the 15 year time frame. A terrific recent article on a mouse clone of hair was reported and posted on our baldingblog. See Below

Hello,We advise to avoid sexual activity for first week after hair transplantation. The rationale is to avoid increasing blood pressure. There are no studies supporting this however. Best Anil Shah MD
