I had Restalyn injected 24 hours ago and I look like I got punched in the eyes. I'm scared, is this normal? how long will it last and can I do anything aside from ice to reduce the swelling?
Answer: Normal swelling after filler injections under eyes Hello,Yes, it's quite normal to have immediate or delayed swelling 24 hours after injections - especially in the sensitive area under the eyes. We advise our tear trough patients to avoid massaging, sleep with a little elevation of head/shoulders, consider Benadryl, gentle icing in AM, and ask your injector about taking Ibuprofen. Swelling will improve with each passing day.

Answer: Tear Trough Hi @PatientD! Swelling and bruising is expected after tear trough fillers. I recommend sleeping elevated and icing. If you are unhappy with the results after two weeks, I recommend dissolving the product with Hyaluronidase. Best of luck, Dr. Nima!

Answer: Under eye swelling It is normal to have some bruising and swelling following filler injection as the skin of the under eyes is very thin, sensitive, and highly vascular. This swelling can last up to 2 weeks. I would give it that amount of time before I would decide if reversal is necessary. In the mean time, I would use some ice packs to help minimize the swelling. Good luck!

Answer: Swelling is perfectly normal after getting tear trough fillers. Thank you for your question and photo. It’s understandable that you are worried, but rest assured, your swelling is not abnormal for injections around the tear trough area. This area tends to be extra sensitive, but most swelling should go down within the following 1 to 2 weeks. Try to be patient and use cold compresses in the meantime. Good luck!

Answer: Tear Trough Swelling After Filler Injection Hi and thanks for your question. I know it must look scary, but swelling after filler injection in the tear troughs is indeed very common. If it persists another day, I would recommend having your injector take a look at you. The great thing about Restylane and all the other hyaluronic acid fillers we use is that they are reversible with hyaluronidase injection, so your injector can reduce the area any time. In the meantime, use ice, Benadryl and Arnica. Hope that helps.
