Can filler fix my pointy chin? (Photo)

Question

I had liquid silicon injected in my chin, and it completely changed the shape of my chin. I hate it when I smile, my chin looks really pointy. Can any filler make my chin less pointy?

Yes, well-placed fillers (voluma, radiesse, bellafill) or sculptra can be used to sculpt the chin. Fat is an alternative. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a facial sculpting expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Radiesse and voluma work well in the chin area and have reasonable longevity - an experienced injector can place in the lateral portions of chin area to achieve a more proportional appearance.  If you like the look after placing the fillers, down the line you might consider a chin implant if you want a more permanent solution (along with removal of the liquid silicone).

I agree that silicone is a less desirable product to use since it cannot be removed.  Fillers such as Voluma can sculpt the surrounding area to make the chin less 'pointy' although it can make the overall chin look much fuller.
An in-office consultation is your best bet to properly assess your options.

Thank for your photo. Filler is a non-surgical alternative to changing the shape of your chin. If placed in the right areas, you can soften the look of your chin. You may also consider removal of the liquid silicone to prevent additional scarring or migration from that particular type of injection which is permanent and not recommended. The more filler you add on top of that, the larger your chin may become over time. I never use silicone injections as one of the problems is that it can't be removed if the patient is dissatisfied.  Meet with an ABPS Bd Certified plastic surgeon or an experienced dermatologist to supplement your injection using other fillers to reshape your chin.  A photo without smiling would be more helpful in assessing your needs.
