Would filler in the chin cause blindness?

I was reading medical reports online about how people have become blind from using fillers. The risky places were forehead, nose region, eyes etc. but what is the risk for the chin area? I'm thinking of getting filler on the tip of my chin to lengthen it a bit, but now I am very worried after learning of these risks??

Thank you for sharing your excellent question.  Injections of fillers into your chin for an augmentation has little to no chance of causing blindness.  Hope this helps.

Visual disturbance is an extremely rare, but possible complication of dermal filler injection to the upper face. It occurs when the product is inadvertently injected into an artery, with the theory being that the product 'plug' then causes disruption of blood flow to the eye. 
The anatomy of arteries near the chin mean that any product injected into them cannot disrupt flow of blood to the eyes (they are not close enough). If this were to occur - and I again emphasise that this complication is very rare - there would be decreased blood flow to the skin rather than the eye.
I encourage you to consult with a local surgeon or physician who specialises in dermal filler procedures for further explanation.

Injections of the chin are not going to result in blindness.  I do appreciate you looking into these issues prior to having any injections.  Please see a Plastic Surgeon in your area for injection advice.
