I just posted another question asking about the risks of a forehead reduction surgery. The first response I got confused me and I can’t figure out how to edit my original question. I thought forehead reduction and hairline lowering were the same thing?

This is a common method that patients choose, as it is quicker and only requires one procedure. Hairline lowering with hair transplant does not require any linear incisions along the hairline, but does not usually attain the same density as a hairline advancement procedure with only one hair transplant session. In most cases, patients will opt for a second hair transplant session about one year after the first session in order to achieve even greater density in the transplanted zone. Once this second session is complete, patients have usually achieved adequate density. I would recommend speaking with a forehead reduction specialist to discuss your goals and anatomy to determine which procedure(s) are right for you.
