Hi ! I just had bbl and I had a small lump on my leg- the doctor said it's cellulitis. He doesn't seem concerned that its anything bad at all. My temperature is 101. I finish antibiotics tomorrow but I think there is another area I might have cellulitis. Im really concerned as he doesn't seem to be worried about it at all and I don't know where to go for a second opionion. Please help.
Answer: Cellulitis after surgery There seems to be a lot of edema - combined with a fever, I would be more concerned. If your Doctor is not available, I would suggest going to an emergency room to seek assistance.

Answer: Cellulitis Dear water18,it is hard to tell for sure without an examination and just by looking at your photos. If you are concerned, I would suggest you to consult your plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MD, MHA, MS Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, Am. Society of Plastic Surgery

Answer: Cellulitis after a BBL Infections are no joke and should be taken very seriously. Cellulitis it's often first noticed by redness and tenderness to the area. The tenderness may be masked by numbness after surgical procedures like liposuction. Surgical infections typically present 5 to 7 days after the procedure. If your doctor thinks this is cellulitis then you should be on antibiotics. Plastic surgeons will often take a permanent marker and make an outline of the red area to see if it's spreading or shrinking. Most plastic surgeons consider a fever at 101.5°. Fevers are typically seen fairly late once in infection has become substantial. The most common reason for patients to have fevers after surgery is the condition called aralectisis which is caused by not taking deep breath's because of pain after surgery. Continue following up with your doctor. Hopefully a board-certified plastic surgeon. Best, Mats Hagstrom, MD
