Cartilage piercings before otoplasty? (photos)

If you already have a pair of cartilage piercings on one of your ears, is it still possible to get otoplasty/surgery fro pinning back my ears? How does it affect the surgery?

Aggressive otoplasty can pin the ears next to the scalp very close.Some patients request that as a wanted to be very tight next to the scalp.  However, if that is not what you wish than most likely you will need a revision which will include loosening the stitches are pulling it back.RegardsDr. J

I would recommend not wearing your glasses after your otoplasty for as long as they cause you discomfort.  Once the discomfort goes away, you should be able to wear them without a problem.  Wearing them now should not cause a problem with your result, but I would avoid them if they are causing y...

Don't dispair! numbness one week out of surgery is very common.  It can take a few weeks to months to get the sensation back.  During this healing time, be aware that you have poor sensation in those areas.  Therefore, be careful with extreme hot and cold for the next few weeks.  Any con...
