I'm 16, and for the past 3 years most of the day I've been wearing a computer headset, and I've noticed my ears are pushed back more than they were before, my right one noticeably more than the left. If I stop using the headset will they go back to normal, and after how long? Thanks
I had otoplasty performed 3 days ago and i was instructed to wear a headband after the dressing was removed. My question is how should I wear the headband? Should it be tight? Does it have to cover my entire ear (I have big ears so a normal headband wont cover the entire thing)? Do I necessarily have to wear a headband or can I wrap my head with an elastic fabric? I do not want the telephone affect look.
I had double ear otoplasty in March and my left ear's PDS sutures were not strong enough to hold after 7 weeks of headband. I felt pain and my ear was moving away from my head. Also went numb and blocked. I have worn a headband for another 8 weeks. My ear has regained feeling but still feels like it can't hold itself without the headband. The doctor who performed the surgery said to wear a headband for 3-6 months for the sutures to be absorbed, but I don't know if I can trust this will work.
Hi there just curious , its been 10 days / a week and 3 days after my surgery and Im wearing my headband 24/7. I get scared at night incase I sleep on my side , if for like a hour I fall asleep accidentally on my side can it affect anything what does it do. Cos sometimes Im scared and I see myself resting on it
Hi, I'd like to know the propose of the head band post otoplasty is recommended at night for 2 months. I was told that it would help to shape the ears, but hasn't the shape already been determined by the surgery and sutures? I was initially given to understand that the band was just to protect the ears from moisture and pulling. So if I don't wear It (I feel ok without it, and sleep alone) , will the shape change?
Hello everyone! I had an otoplasty procedure done a week ago. Everything went great, so far I am making a quick recovery and the results are notable. My right ear is still a bit swollen but I know I just have to give it time. My concern is this: After the procedure I had that bulky head wrap on for about 24 hours. The day following the procedure the doctor took it off and sent me home. He did not emphasize on wearing some kind of headband at night. Is this needed or is it just for protection?
I just had otoplasty 1 wk ago. The head wrap came off 2 days ago. While puttling the band on, I ripped the top stitch. one ear is stitched to my head still, while the ripped stich has released the hold on the top. Was the skin stitched suposed to attach to eachother, or will the other ear do this once the stitches desolve as well. I am stuck in the head band, if i take it out i can feel a pull on the top of the ear where the stich scliced. It start to protued out slightly and is uncomfortable.
I have done otoplasty for almost 3 week, only for my left ear. I wear headband for the first 2 week. But now i only tape the bandage to my ear. I notice the ear is protruding more than my first week. Does the headband affect anything about it, if I wear the headband tighter would that impact how much they protrude? Please helpp!!
I am panicking. Had my op 4 days a go. Had a headband change today and had a quick peek of my ears. I have had a problem with my ears sticking out for many years. I did ask for my ears to go right back, and asked for my ears to look like this in these photos of me. But my ears are practically resting against my head and you can not even see I have ears from the front. So upset and worried this is how it will stay.
