Can't breathe through right nostril after internal splint removal - Is there any way the splint could split and be left there?

I had splints removed today. Right nostril seemed just uncomfortable and the splint felt short. On the left it was extremelly painful. I can already breathe from the left nostril just fine, but the right one is just blocked... it still seems there is something in there! I use sprays they prescribed and on left they work, on the right they just don't go further up. Is there ANY way the splint could split and be left there or it is just a gunk.. I'm very anxious and angry
