Would like to fix breathing issues like deviated septum which is covered by OHIP but also under go Rhinoplasty at the same time?

My nose has been broken a few times, as well as completely split down the middle by a dog bite. I have trouble breathing and a decent scar on my nose already. I would like to correct breathing, reduce scaring and reduce a bump on my bridge. I would like to know how I can get most of this covered by OHIP and how much should I expect to pay for basic (if there is such a thing) Rhinoplasty at the same time? and should I see a ENT or a Plastic Surgeon?

Thank you for your questionI do recommend that if a patient is considering both septoplasty and cosmetic rhinoplasty that he/she do both at the same time. To do a cosmetic rhinoplasty, I often harvest cartilage from the septum for grafting.  If a septoplasty is needed, the bent cartilage that is blocking the nose can be removed for this purpose.  This provides graft material and also alleviates the obstruction.  Also then you only have one recovery and one anesthesia.  I do these combined functional and cosmetic cases often.  Insurance will pay for the functional part, including the OR and anesthesia during the breathing part of the surgery.  Many surgery centers will give a discount on the cosmetic portion if it is done with an insurance portion, so you may save some money too.  Best of luckDr Rodman
