I think more and more non-surgical options would be recommended for someone with your skin changes. The spectrum of options include microneedling, laser lipo of the neck (if you have a pinch of fat there), radiofrequency treatments, Ultherapy (ultrasound treatments) and only when you hit 60 years of age should you consider necklift surgery. Visit with a board certified plastic surgeon who does a lot of non-surgical treatments also to consult with. Best Wishes!!
The neck can have horizontal wrinkles and rings from an early age (genetics play a key role) as well as from sun damage and aging in almost everyone. They can be super annoying and are hard to get rid of.Surgically removing them is the best way to get rid of them but this can leave a lot of scars in very visible areas which most people don’t want. These rings are usually at the skin level. There are several nonsurgical and surgical options to consider. Some can be done at the same time. Surgery combined with injections and laser treatments before or after surgery is usually the biggest difference. For people not interested in surgery, the hyaluronic acid injections and laser treatments are the most reasonable options, maybe combined with a chemical peel. These procedures can be done safely in the office and the results are often very satisfying. An in-office private consultation and examination with a board-certified plastic surgeon would be the best way to fully address your specific concerns and determine the right treatment plan.I hope this helps. You can use botulim toxin locally to correct the muscle contraction but also at your age is just going to become worse with time. In a long run is probably better to consider surgery for a more permanent solution and also will improved your overall looks
Radiofrequency such as Fractora RF is the best to tighten and smooth out face and neck creases and does naturally.
Hi Suziesays,Thanks for sharing your question and photo,Based on the photo, you would benefit from skin tightening which can be performed with a lower facelift, or you may wish to consider non surgical methods first, a full examination at your consultation would be advisable, as your chosen surgeon would be able to discuss your options and outcome.Good luck and all the best
Hi Suziesays,I would recommend an in-person consultation with an experienced facial plastic surgeon. You may be a candidate for Botox to the platysma muscle, if the skin is not that saggy. Otherwise, you may require some form of a skin-tightening procedure as well— this may be in the form of a necklift or face/necklift.Best wishes,Dr. Jay
Based on this single photo it appears that you may be a good candidate for anterior neck lift. This is a very predictable procedure for patient in your age with long lasting result. Through a small incision underneath the chin we perform first liposuction of the lateral sides of the neck and along jawline, followed with reduction of the superficial and, if needed, deep fat compartment of the neck. Tightening and shaping of platysma muscle is done next. Surgery is done in twilight anesthesia and recovery is without pain and discomfort in most of the patients. In person evaluation is necessary for more accurate evaluation and planning. Good luck.
A combination approach would give the most improvement. Kybella, PDO Nova Threads, Ultherapy and/or ThermiRF/J Plasma/Renuvion or InMode BodyTite/FaceTite treatments and RF like Venus Legacy or Exilis Ultra or Inmode Forma are non-invasive options that would do well in combination for skin tightening for the neck. VASER with ThermiRF/J Plasma/Renuvion or InMode BodyTite/FaceTite is a great alternative for contouring and tightening the chin and neck and can be combined with a neck lift at the same time, if you're a candidate. you may need neck lift and plastymaplasty for best outcome. See a cosmetic dermatologist/cosmetic surgeon for a long term treatment plan. Best, Dr. Emer.
The reason for seeking consultation is that non surgical therapy might help, like the use of Botox. Also use of threads or dermal tightening devices could help. But you have to remember that these are all temporary. As far a surgery, a limited platysmaplasty could work but in the presence of excess skin, a necklift could be the solution. Seek a consultation for the best advice.
A lower face & neck lift along with platysmaplasty to tighten the underlying muscle will give you a rejuvenation that can last for up to 8 years or more. Based on the photo, you would benefit from this combination. Cost will vary to a number of factors and can be discussed at your consultation. I hope this helps.
