Hi there, Thank you for your question. We encourage our patients to walk after surgery. What we don't want is our patients to over exert themselves. Speak with your surgeon regarding your physical restrictions. Best, realdrsix
Patients that are recovering from surgery should avoid exercise that increases their heart rate for at least 3 weeks. Ideally short walks often are encouraged to help with circulation and recovery. I encourage my patients to eat protein, drink plenty of fluids, take several deep breaths every two hours, and ambulate often. Good luck.
Hello,I encourage my patients to walk after surgery. I advise against cardio-type activity but if you are just walking I can't see an issue with it. Please ask your Plastic Surgeon for specific advice about your recovery. All the best
Thank you for this wonderful question! First I would like to say congratulations! I typically will request my patients ease back into daily activities within the first week. A walk is perfectly within these limits as long as it is just a relaxed stroll. The important thing to remember is that when you raise your heart rate you will increase your blood pressure subsequently increasing your swelling which is what we are trying to avoid within the first 4 weeks following surgery. As always I would strongly suggest you follow up with your Board Certified Plastic Surgeon as most likely he/she will already have a recovery plan that incorporates resuming daily activities set for you. I do hope you have found this information helpful and I wish you luck!
Following Breast Augmentation Surgery you can return to most daily tasks, work and activities within a few days, but strenuous or repetitive activity must be avoided for 6 weeks. Some pain can be expected in the few days after breast surgery. This is usually minimal and many patients describe it as ‘uncomfortable’ rather than ‘painful’. There is always some swelling in the tissues and it takes approximately 3 months for breasts to soften and feel normal after surgery.Going for a walk will be absolutely fine but no your limits and if you start to feel tired, take a rest. Please also consult your surgeon for detailed aftercare instructionsAll the best
Thank you for your question. I recommend that my patients begin light walking during their first week of recovery after getting breast augmentation. This is because the physical activity promotes blood circulation and can actually speed up the recovery process. Many women are also eager to get back into their normal routines, including exercise. At 5-days post-op, walking should be fine. However, don’t push yourself. If you have any doubts, contact your breast augmentation surgeon first for clearance.
This is a great question, thanks for asking. Getting up and moving after your breast augmentation is encouraged, as light activity helps to keep your blood circulating and prevents blood clots from forming. Keep in mind, though, that at 5 days post-op, you don’t want to overexert yourself, so this should be a slow, easy walk, not a power walk. Talk to your plastic surgeon about when you can start working up to more strenuous exercises. Generally speaking, this is usually around the three-week post-op mark. Hope this helps!
Yes. You can certainly go out for a leisurely walk. Not a speed walk. You don't want to do too much as this point, but it is important to get the muscles moving. Best of luck.
It is ok to go for a walk starting the day after surgery, provided that you walk at a casual pace and don't try to exert yourself. Walking and taking deep breaths is a great idea to help with your recovery. Enjoy your stroll.
I allow my patients to go walking the day after surgery. This is casual walking not speed walking for exercise.
