Hi, thanks for your question. It's important to avoid any chemical peels during pregnancy. That said, if your OB were to approve it, lactic acid peels are known to be safe during pregnancy. I would speak to your doctor before having any treatment however. I would recommend a good at home skincare routine, just to be on the safe side. There are some great skincare products out there that rejuvenate and hydrate your skin and give you that similar calming and soothing effect. I highly recommend that you consult with an experienced skincare provider, medical aesthetician, or dermatologist in order to assess what kind of routine would best suit your needs and what products can be safely used during your pregnancy.

For my expectant mothers, I love to use either lactic acid since it is a mild exfoliant derived from milk that is used to both improve skin tone and texture but also increases hydration within the skin, or glycolic acid which is a little bit stronger in terms of exfoliation, but is derived from sugar cane which also makes it a safe ingredient to use while pregnant. Once the skin is exfoliated your esthetician should complete any extractions needed followed by a treatment mask tailored to your skin needs and repairative serum and lotions.
