Looks like, from these frontal images, you've got two basic things going on. The tip is wide-ish, as you mention. And the upper part of the nose, above the tip, is also wide, and can be narrowed. In fact, the way that the upper part is wide seems to mask how the tip is wide in this frontal angle. The woman in the short video that I posted with this answer had the tip of her nose narrowed in her rhinoplasty. In a "non-surgical" nose job, filler is injected, to make parts of the nose bigger. I don't think that bigger is what you're aiming for.On a wide nose like yours, the three-quarter views are usually impacted and improved as well. I'd love for you to see some excellent professionally-designed morphs of what could possibly be done with your nose. Morphs could also help you identify what's bothering you, and help you set a goal for the rhinoplasty that's accurate for your tastes. Profile and three-quarter views would be particularly important in morphing your nose. (Side note: in my opinion, morphs should always be done by the surgeon, or he should direct an assistant as she makes the morphs. Morphs should be made with a constant eye to what actually *can* be done in surgery, for that particular nose, and only the surgeon has that information and judgment.)You should also remember that rhinoplasty is an exquisitely difficult operation to get right, and you should only have surgery if you are able to make yourself very confident in your surgeon's skills. The changes that your nose needs require advanced techniques, requiring skill that most plastic surgeons don't possess with expertise. For most noses, it's much better to not have surgery than to have inexpertly-performed surgery. Read my essay on how to stay out of trouble while selecting a rhinoplasty surgeon. Your nose is also a perfect example of why computer imaging is mandatory in rhinoplasty. You need to know exactly what the surgeon is planning to accomplish -- what features he thinks he can change, and by how much he thinks he can change them. I always email morphs to my online rhinoplasty consultations. When you see the surgeon's goals in the morphs, you'll know whether he has an eye for an attractive nose, and whether he shares your opinion of what constitutes an attractive nose. You'll also know whether the changes he proposes are large enough to be meaningful to you, and whether he understands your wishes enough to address all of your priorities. How would you ever get that figured out without the morphs?
Hi @livyloo96! I recommend seeing an expert rhinoplasty specialist for an in person examination. There are several options for you that can be determined after examination. Best of luck, Dr. Nima!
Based on your desire to have a "more refined tip", you may be a better candidate for rhinoplasty surgery. Rhinoplasty surgery may be considered for achieving a narrower appearance of your nasal tip and bridge. Adding fillers may lead to a wider appearance. Hope this helps. Dr Joseph
Hi Liv,Your aesthetic goals for your nose can only be addressed with a surgical rhinoplasty. I respectively disagree with some of the answers here to your question. You need not consult with a cosmetic dermatologist as fillers in your nose will not refine your tip. You should consult with multiple rhinoplasty surgeon experts and then choose your surgeon carefully based on their skill, experience, knowledge, care, and most importantly their natural artistic vision. A few great rhinoplasty surgeons whom I would recommend are Dean Toriumi, MD (Chicago), Ari Hyman, MD (Los Angeles), and Steven Pearlman, MD (New York). Good luck and be well.Dr. P
I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist to go over your desired results. Facial fillers like Voluma, Restylane, and Juvederm along with Botox can be used to improve the symmetry of the nose and lift the tip; however, it won't make the nose appear smaller. Surgery would be needed to improve the nostrils or overall shape. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
Rhinoplasty for the wide tip and nose for a more attractive and feminine nose. Fillers will only make your nose bigger. Look for a very experienced rhinoplasty surgeon who can show you natural noses with noses like yours and don’t rely on imaging!
Nonsurgical rhinoplasty is a great option for some patients but has limitations. Fillers can be injected into the bridge and tip of the nose to camouflage a small hump, define/straighten the bridge, raise the tip, or improve small asymmetries. Typically, patients see the most improvement in the profile view of the nose. The procedure takes only a few minutes and has no down time which makes it a very attractive alternative to traditional surgical techniques for the right patient. In your case, however, refining the nasal tip and narrowing the nose may be best achieved with a surgical rhinoplasty.
Unfortunately non surgical rhinoplasty won't give you the refinement you're looking for. You have thicker skin and fillers will not refine that. A surgical rhinoplasty can help you quite a bit and get you closer to your goals.
A non-surgical rhinoplasty is good at blending lines and making the contours of the nose appear more smooth and balanced. That being said, adding filler will not make your nose appear thinner or more refined. For a more elegant thinning or refinement, you would best be served with a surgical rhinoplasty to address the width of your nose and the sharpness and definition of your tip. Hope this helps!Johnson C. Lee, MD Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon
In our practice, we do not recommend placement of fillers in the nasal tip because it will only make it the nose bigger, not smaller and more refined. In addition, it's only temporary, is not FDA approved for that application, can have significant complications such as skin necrosis. A closed rhinoplasty can accomplish your goals of narrowing/refining the tip, along with narrowing and straightening the bridge line. All Incisions are placed on the inside of the nose. No external incisions are required.
Widening of the nose after injectable fillers is more likely due to over correction, rather than migration. Thank you for your question. Sincerely, Dr. Joseph
Injectable fillers can be used in the Columella base to try and lift the nasal tip and also on top of the needs of tip to create the impression that the tip defining points are slightly higher.Although injectable fillers how are perceived as a safer option because they represent a modest i...
Radio frequency turbinate reduction is a safe procedure that may be performed with local anesthetic as you described. We typically use electrocautery to reduce somebody's turbinates in the office with local anesthetic, and Electrocautery is more aggressive, in my opinion. Radio frequency tends...
