Had surgery 9/19 and I was wondering if I could just sit in the ocean, no swimming and I will wear a long sleeve "surf" type shirt so I don't burn. I've heard that the ocean helps heal wounds, might just be an old wives tale :) Thanks

Answer: 4 weeks I typically tell all of my patients to wait 4 weeks before submerging themselves in any water. Follow the instructions of your PS. I wish you the best of luck!

Answer: How long do I have to wait after a breast augmentation to submerge myself in sea water? Thank your for your question. Every surgeon will have his/her own preferences as to recovery for specific procedures. I have patients wear a soft bra after breast augmentation for 3 to 4 weeks to splint everything, and at that point the scars are generally very stable. Best is to wait after this time when everything has healed to get in the sea water. That said, the best person to advice you will be your specific surgeon. Good luck!
