The more that is done in the surgery, the more recovery you will likely need. In larger cases, I think avoiding strenuous activity for at least 4 weeks is reasonable.Kenneth Hughes, MDLos Angeles, CA
Smartlipo recovery is pretty variable, depending on the amount of areas that areperformed and the amount of liposuction that is taken care of. You would needto have a consultation for a full evaluation with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon toidentify exactly what needs to be done and tell you how long your recovery willbe. Hope this helps!
Of course the amount of time needed to recover from any procedure has directly to do with the extent of the procedure and, particularly, how much fat is removed. Smart lipo is a type of laser assisted liposuction. Typically it is a much faster and easier recovery then traditional standard, tumescent liposuction, however the results in terms of time frame do very greatly. Generally, one to two weeks for a patient to be relatively pain free and approximately four to six weeks to notice a significant recontouring of the area as swelling can be present when large areas are suctioned.
Smartlipo is a minimally invasive procedure thathas little downtime and side effects. Typically after Smartlipo that patientcan return to work within 1-2 days, no exercising for at least one week. Besure to follow up with your surgeon that you are healing properly.
Thank you for you question. it is unfortunate to hear about the residual pain/burning you are experiencing. I would go to the surgeon who performed your surgery to be evaluated by a board certified plastic surgeon. In the mean time, I would massage the areas on your body that are still in pain....
Return to work after a smart liposuction procedure varies depending on the amount of liposuction performed and your level of pain tolerance. Patients routinely return to work on average 1-2 weeks post-op.
When patients have liposuction done under general anesthesia their surgeons are often much more aggressive than when the patients are awake. They also tend to use less tumescent anesthesia (or none at all) which dramatically reduces bleeding and bruising. As a result patients are...
What your doctor is saying is true, to a point. It is useful to use a layer of foam between the garment and binder to avoid indentations. I recommend that my patients wear the foam for only a week and the garment for one month. The foam does not need to be a yoga mat, the type...
To do all those areas would require general anesthesia to do a good job. It's all about the dose limit of the local anesthesia injected. If multiple areas are being done under local, the anesthetic in the local tumescent solution has to be diluted too much (otherwise you risk going...
It is very difficult to advise without pictures or seeing you in person. The key to liposuction is your skin elasticity. If the skin tone is good then liposuction which removes the fat will allow skin the shrink up. If the skin is loose liposuction simply makes it looser. You must consider your...
