Without examining you it's difficult to give a specific answer but at 6 weeks it is still very early and if your surgeon is not concerned then there probably isn't anything to worry about. It's best to follow your surgeon's advice and be patient with the healing process. Even if you need a revision, what you are describing sounds like something that would be best to wait a year on before having another procedure so there's no sense stressing yourself out this early in the healing process.

Scar tissue usually forms 4 to 12 weeks after surgery. If it is scar tissue it may resolve on its own, or sometimes injections of a steroid like Kenalog may help dissolve it over time. You are still very early in your recovery, follow your surgeon's advice and try to be patient. Good luck!

yeegits. I appreciate your concern, however it is most likely early scar tissue forming under the skin, which is normal and will resolve with time. Gentle massage of the area will also help. Follow up with your plastic surgeon and try to stay patient. Good luck.

Hello, and thank you for your question. (Keep in mind that an in-person consultation is necessary for the best advice.) It is still early after your surgery. Swelling often takes 3-6 months to resolve. Scars (inside and outside) develop and then soften with time. The swelling/prominence may improve. Be patient, and follow up with your plastic surgeon. I am sorry you are having issues in your postoperative recovery but keep in mind that 6 weeks is still very early after surgery. Although you may have discomfort when massaging it will help to desensitize things as well as help with scarring. Continue to follow your plastic surgeons recommendations and be patient.
