I am about to have surgery in a week and a half. I have only told my boyfriend, and it's making him uncomfortable because he is the only one who knows. Is it better to tell people before, or let them find out when they do. How is a good way to approach it. I feel like a lot of my friends would judge me. It is a rasping of the dorsal hump. The nose won't be broken.
Answer: I am nervous people will judge me for having a rhinoplasty Dear rcmecca7If you are having rhinoplasty, a minor one or a major change, keep in mind that you are doing it for one person and one person only. You are having surgery to make the life of the person you see in the mirror, every single day, a little better (or a lot better ;) ). People approach this very differently. I find that patients who are upfront and state the facts feel better and deal better with others. Be yourself and be comfortable with yourself. Generally, when most people start to side step an issue or a question, that looks or feels more odd. If you tell people who ask you had minor surgery, you are free and you feel good. I'm sure you will have a great result and it will feel like the new nose is the one you were always meant to have. Happy Holidays!

CONTACT NOW Answer: Many co-workers and family members may not notice well performed rhinoplasty surgery - even when changes are dramatic. Your photos appear to reveal thin nasal skin, an overprojected bulbous nasal tip, and a dorsal hump. Your thin skin may be more prone to reveal irregularities after rhinoplasty. You may require osteotomies when your hump is removed to ensure your nasal appearance doesn't widen. When dorsal humps are removed, ligaments spanning the nasal bridge to the tip may be severed, and ensuring adequate tip support may be helpful for preventing iatrogenic tip droopiness after surgery. If you're not 110% on board with rhinoplasty surgery for any reason, it may be best postponing for now. Hope this helps you. Dr Joseph

Answer: Rhinoplasty , some advices: Thank you very much for sharing your concerns with us. The harmony between facial parts makes us instinctively recognize the beauty... without knowing it, without defining it, just a perception that surprises and captivates us. In this regard, I suggest perform a Closed Rhinoplasty (without visible scars) to treat the tip, base and nasal bridge. With this procedure you get a delicate nose, better harmonize with your other facial features. Respectfully,Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-

Answer: I am nervous, people will judge me for having a rhinoplasty First of all, it's important to note that there is a significant cartilaginous and dorsal hump present on the Dorsum of the nose. The Cartilage itself must be cut and the bone file down. An open roof, flat-top nasal deformity will be created once the hump has been removed. This will make the nose actually wider from the frontal view, since it has been de-projected. When the dorsal hump like this is being removed, osteotomies are mandatory to be placed in the nasal bones which closes the open roof created from the hump removal and narrows the bridge line in proportion to the tip. Minimal if any tip surgery is required. Rhinoplasty is a very difficult endeavor, so choose your surgeon very wisely based on extensive experience producing natural and consistent results. A natural appearing nose will not draw suspicion from family and friends, and the new nose will just blend in to your facial features. For many examples of dorsal hump removal with osteotomies, please see the link and the video below

Answer: Getting rhinoplasty Being anxious about rhinoplasty is normal; remember if you just get your hump removed and your bridge made smaller without touching your tip, then it will not change your look and in fact some of your friends may really not understand why you look better. To remove the hump and narrow your nose you can do the closed rhinoplasty surgery which takes only an hour or so to complete. BTW to remove your hump, you will need to break your nose. Please see link below for more information.
