Unfortunately, Cellfina does not work on loose skin. The treatment cuts through the fibrous bands that cause cellulite dimples. If you have loose skin, it can cut through fibers under the loose skin and cause the loose skin to be worse. Patients with loose skin on the legs would benefit more from a thigh lift.
Hello, Thank you for your question. Unfortunately Cellfina does not address loose skin. It specifically targets dimpled cellulite and reduces it. Treatments like Profound can help tighten skin but obviously not as much as surgery. It’s best to consult with a local physician in person to determine the best treatment based on your expectations. Good luck!
Cellfina is designed to improve the appearance of cellulite dimpling of the skin on the posterior thighs and buttocks. It does this by cutting the fibrous attachments under the skin causing the dimpling. It does not tighten or remove loose skin. Depending on the amount of loose skin, options for treatment include a minimally invasive procedure like Bodytite or surgery like a thigh lift.I would suggest having an in-person consultation with a plastic surgeon who has all of these treatment options available. That way you can decide which is truly best for your situation.Best wishes!
Cellfina is a highly effective treatment for dimpling in the buttocks and thighs caused from fibrous banding. However, Cellfina does not tighten skin and does not reduce fat. Many of my Cellfina patients benefit from non-invasive skin tightening following the Cellfina procedure. Because different offices have various ways of tightening skin, I recommend an in person consultation before proceeding with a treatment option to ensure expectations align.
Thank you for your question. Unfortunately Cellfina will not help at all with loose skin. Non operative and mininally invasive treatments are available to help with skin laxity and can be modestly effective. In my practice Thermitight and Thermismooth are used for modest improvement of mild laxity. For significantly lax skin surgical excision is usually needed to get significant improvement.Jeffrey Thaxton, MD FACSCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Loose leg skin is not treated by Cellfina. Loose leg skin can be treated non-surgically with radiofrequency or laser devices to tighten the skin. Surgically, laser liposuction or a thigh lift can help tighten or remove extra skin respectively. Hope this helps!Johnson C. Cellfina works to release the bands that cause dimpling of the skin. There are no tightening effects from Cellfina. In fact, if someone is predisposed to loose skin, Cellfina can make that worse.Options for managing loose skin on the buttocks or thighs include surgical options:Buttock liftThigh liftAnd non surgical options:ThermageEndyMedUltherapy
We have been performing Cellfina treatments for cellulite for over 2 years now. The improvement in dimpling is excellent, but there is absolutely no skin tightening effect. This is the most common misconception that we have to explain to our patients. In fact, short of surgical excision, there is no really effective way available currently to tighten up leg skin.
Thank you for your question. While there are many treatments for cellulite but I recommend Cellulaze. Cellulaze involves the insertion of a small cannula into the subcutaneous fat layer. The directed laser energy cuts across fat chambers, creating a threefold effect that results in a reduction...
Bruising and/or swelling can last for several weeks after treatment and will gradually resolve. Keep in mind, a combination approach is needed to get the most improvement. I recommend Cellfina in combination with Sculptra, and body treatments like Exilis Ultra/Venus Legacy, Cellutone/z wave. A V...
Thanks for the question. Unfortunately, it is difficult to make an accurate assessment without at least some photos. Cellfina can work on some types of cellulite on the front of the thighs, but it’s possible you might need a combination of treatments to achieve the outcome you want. I r...
