Thank you for your question! For my patients having a BBL procedure, I recommend they stay completely off of their buttocks for the first 10 days post surgery. Then at day 10, they can start using a BBL pillow to keep pressure directly off of their butt, for the following 3 weeks. I recommend discussing specific post op instructions with your plastic surgeon. Best of luck!
Thanks for your question. For my patients, I recommend they stay off their buttocks for at least 6 weeks. That said, you should confirm with your surgeon as every doctor is different. Please always consult with a board certified plastic surgeon.Take care,Moises Salama M.D., Board Certified Plastic Surgeon
hello thank you for your question and provided information as well.. based in your question , its recommended get off the butt 1 month after surgery.
Best to ask your plastic surgeon for his/her recommendation. I recommend that my patients minimize sitting, even with a pillow (boppy or BBL), for the first two weeks. If they must sit, every 30 minutes or an hour, they should get up and stand for a few seconds to take the pressure off. This reduces the chance for fat necrosis. I usually recommend about 6 weeks before sitting without a pillow. After 6 weeks the fat has revascularized, and they will have a very good idea of their final results. Thank you very much for this interesting question. The recovery time after a BBL is three months, after that you can start again normal activities. Kind regards,Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-
In our practice, we recommend 2 weeks. There is no literature on the time frame but from our standpoint, swelling decreases at the two week time point and therefore the pressure from weight should not affect the long-term result.
Hello emartinez0784,It’s a pleasure to answer your questions! Based on my experience, after performing Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) surgery you must avoid sitting or sleeping on your back for at least 8 weeks or else the desired outcome will be negatively affected. Putting pressure on your buttocks by sitting down or laying on it during the recovery period can stiffen, deform and even cause the transplanted fat cells to reabsorb. Best wishes! Dr. De La Cruz.
I recommend my patients to avoid sitting for the first two weeks after surgery. A special BBL pillow can be used afterwards for short durations.
Thanks for your question. Every surgeon has their own postoperative instructions. Generally, 2-3 weeks should be sufficient for staying off your buttocks.Good luck with your decisions.Dr T
no one knows the answer to this question but typically it is three weeks. You can sit down to go to the bathroom but otherwise it is best to stay off your buttocks to increase oxygen to the fat cells . Hope this helps. Best regards
