I did a BBL operation on 26/6, which is a week ago. I can now see that one hip is a bit uneven and I wonder if I can even smooth it out? Is it possible to massage fat to the hip or how can I make it even? What kind of massage can be applicable? Or do I need a second op? Alot of questions but I hope u can help me out!
Answer: BBL results Dear Sooooookiiiiiii, every plastic surgeon has his own postoperative protocol which he recommends to his patients. I understand your concern and it is quite normal to be concerned about the outcome following a BBL surgery. However, you are still in the very early stages of the healing process.Your will need to be patient at this moment and follow what your surgeon has instructed you to do post operatively. At the early stage of the healing process, the tissues are still swollen. Once the swelling subsides you will be able to see the final result of your surgery. I would suggest you to discuss this with your plastic surgeon.Daniel Barrett, MD Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery

Answer: 1 week post BBL Currently you are very earlier in your healing stage post BBL and I suggested all of my patients to allow at least 4 to 6 weeks for swelling to settle. It is very common for patients to sometimes experience more swelling on one side verses the other causing an uneven appearance.I suggested that you reach out to your surgeon for post care directions on reducing the swelling .

Answer: 1 week post-op BBL with uneven hip. Can this be fixed? Hello dear!! Thanks for the question and provided information as well. You are still early on the healing process, it can take up to six months to see your final results, so please be patient. Unfortunately, without pictures is very difficult to give you a proper answer. If you have any concerns, please follow up close with your plastic surgeon. Good luck :)

Answer: 1 week post-op BBL with uneven hip. Can this be fixed? One week is very early in your post op period. 30-50% of the fat injected into the buttocks and hips is lost over the first 3-6 months after the surgery. No, fat cannot be massaged into that area and in fact, massage can hurt the fat transfer. It is best to just massage the areas of liposuction and leave the areas of fat transfer alone during the early post op period. Asymmetry is common and known with the BBL but I wouldn't pass any judgment on the result until you are at least 3 months out. Remember the task force for the BBL now states that a 2nd BBL is not a "revision" but a necessity given the nature of fat death. ASPS formed the task force and just this past year they have said that all patients undergoing a BBL by a board certified PS who is following all the safety guidelines that are in place currently should be open to needing a 2nd BBL.
