A complete cephalometric assessment will probably require a bit more than the picture. I would say you probably have a bit of both. The easiest to treat is going to be the mandible and it’s probably sufficient. Your dental occlusion may or may not be a concern and could be something treatable if it is.Perhaps in your case it wouldn’t hurt to talk to a few oral surgeons to get their review as well as board-certified plastic surgeons. In terms of facial skeletal assessment and work this is often done by both oral surgeons and plastic surgeons especially those who have had cranial facial fellowship training. You are correct in getting an accurate assessment before even thinking about surgical intervention if that something you’re interested in.You posted an excellent picture and we are all appreciative of that. Based on that sliding genioplasty or chin implant is probably sufficient to get a fairly perfect or ideal facial profile. To get a full assessment x-rays and an assessment of your inclusion would be needed as well.It may not be necessary for you to get x-rays but I suggest getting a good understanding of how your teeth are especially the Occlusion. From your picture I’m guessing you are of Asian dissent. Forgive me if I am incorrect. I included a reference article focusing on by maxillary protrusion in Asians that you may or may not find interesting. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
