It is not uncommon to have a spontaneous change in the cartilages of the nose and developing a small bump. It is more common in the tip but can happen in any area. Typically starts after a mild trauma that you might not have noticed and then with time the deformity becomes noticeable. RegardsDr. J
thank you for your question. It is very difficult for me to give you my opinion without having a consultation or at least a photo where I can appreciate that bone you are referring to.best regards,Yucel Sarialtin
Hello and thanks for your question.Typically, a small piece of bone after fracturing of the bone following bone reshaping can cause this. This can go away for resorb or you may need small shaving under local.Follow up with your plastic surgeon.Best Wishes,Dr Sajjadian
Dear Ai123,It depends on the location of the bumpThe upper 1/3 of the nose is bony and the lower 2/3 is cartilageIf it bugs you, I would see a rhinoplasty specialist who can examine and guide youBest,Nima Shemirani
I really cannot answer this without an exam or some photos.Kenneth Hughes, MDLos Angeles, CA...........
The dorsal hump is usually composed of both bone and cartilage and must be filed or shaved down to remove it. Once the hump has been shaved down, osteotomies of the nasal bones are required to prevent an open roof deformity and straighten the crooked nose. Occasionally a spreader graft is placed underneath the concave upper lateral cartilage when it has been dislocated inwardly to repair the crookedness of the nose. Choose your rhinoplasty surgeon wisely, since straightening of the crooked nose is a very difficult endeavor. For many examples, please see the link and video below
HiI saw your post, your question and your pictures. Your pictures show the bump that it obvious but closer evaluation based on these small pictures reveals a low nasal starting point and a ptotic tip. If you just take down the bump your nose will look too low and flat and droopy....
It is possible that the trauma changed the quality of your voice and that surgical correction could help.Kenneth Hughes, MDLos Angeles, CA
