Im 16 and people are always asking me about my nose and I just say it's broken I really don't know how it got like this when I was a baby I had a cute little nose and people started talking about it this year it wasn't really this big a few years ago I think it's growing ! I don't really consider my nose big it's just the bump that throws it off If I get surgery will they file it down or take it off break it ?? Also would it be open or closed rhinoplasty
Answer: Nose Bump Yes, you do have a hump on the nose that is due to bone and cartilage. You also have several other issues with the nose. Just removing the hump will not leave you with a good result. A rhinoplasty procedure that would also treat your droopy ill-supported tip would also be required to bring the nose into balance. Sixteen is young, but if you have stopped growing over the last year or two I do not think you are too young for the procedure.

Answer: Hump Removal The bump you show is made of cartilage and bone. In rhinoplasty surgery these can be shaved down to produce a better profile. Every nose is different, so techniques can vary depending on special needs. That way we can preserve both nasal breathing and get the best cosmetic result.

Answer: My nose has a bump on it and I'm pretty sure it's bone and I was wondering if it could be filed down or removed? If you have completed growth, a closed rhinoplasty to reduce the hump could be be performed.Kenneth Hughes, MDLos Angeles, CA

Answer: Bump on nose and rhinoplasty Dear lamawesome,To help you out, I think that reducing the bump would be reasonable, and in addition, we would reinforce the tip and support it for a more natural lookBecause the tip droops slightly, it makes the bump worse (try lifting the tip to see the bump get better)Please see a rhinoplasty specialist, Dr Shervin Naderi is in your area performs plenty of rhinoplastiesBest,Nima Shemirani
