I had a small scar on my upper lip on the left hand side. When injected apparently my lip swelled up RIGHT away and turned instantly purple. It doesn’t hurt and I have been putting on Arnicare 4 times a day. The swelling has reduced as pictured above but I feel uglier than I did before. When she injected it to the top left lip (where the bruise/popped vessel is) it didn’t hurt anymore than the rest of it/ it didn’t hurt at all. I just feel so ugly right now.
Answer: Bruising after Lip Fillers--wait 2 weeks Swelling and/or bruising can be typical. Icing, arnica and cold compresses may give improvement. I would wait a full 2 weeks before judging the results, but this may be superficially placed filler. If it is after the two week wait, you can have the filler reversed with hyaluronidase. I hope this helps!

Answer: Bruising Thank you for your question. Bruising is a common occurrence post procedure, and it is important to closely follow pre-op/post-op instructions to best avoid this. Refrain from ibuprofen or other anti-inflammatory drugs. We recommend Arnica tablets, a homepathic treatment for bruising and swelling. Full results will be seen after two weeks. If you are unhappy with your results, you may have filler dissolved using hyaluronidase. Best of luck to you!Report

Answer: Lips Hi. Thank you for your question. I would also take arnicare pills as well. Icing will help. Based on the picture, it looks like the swelling is going down. Personally 1.5ml is a lot on one sitting. I like to inject 0.5ml on the first visit then have the client come back 2-4 weeks later to inject the other half of the syringe. We have to account for the swelling. I like to have people guessing what the client had done vs having them look "injected." Subtle is key! Hope this helps. All the best, Dr Thuy Doan

Answer: Bruising after treatment. There can be bruising after the procedure and the risk of this is higher if you are taking aspirin or other anti-inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen within the last two weeks. Bruising can be quite marked in some instances and the application of ice and taking Arnica tablets/cream following treatment may reduce this. It is important not to rub, massage or put pressure on the area after the treatment as this may result in distorted result and increases the risk of swelling and infection. I would advise waiting two weeks. If you are unhappy with the result then the Dermal Filler can be dissolved by using hyaluronidase.Kind Regards, Dr Sanjay Trikha. Trikwan Aesthetics

Answer: Let the bruise settle and then reassess Using arnica can help the bruise to settle quicker, I also advise using warm compresses twice a day to encourage blood flow after the swelling has settled. When bruising occurs it is impossible to know what the shape of the final result is going to be, as the bruise will often change the shape of the lip. For a bruise such as yours this may take longer than 2 weeks to fully settle. Whilst you may feel it is all worse at the moment, after a while you will feel more confident again, as the bruise settles and isn't visible
