I had a small scar on my upper lip on the left hand side. When injected apparently my lip swelled up RIGHT away and turned instantly purple. It doesn’t hurt and I have been putting on Arnicare 4 times a day. The swelling has reduced as pictured above but I feel uglier than I did before. When she injected it to the top left lip (where the bruise/popped vessel is) it didn’t hurt anymore than the rest of it/ it didn’t hurt at all. I just feel so ugly right now.
Answer: Bruising after Lip Fillers--wait 2 weeks Swelling and/or bruising can be typical. Icing, arnica and cold compresses may give improvement. I would wait a full 2 weeks before judging the results, but this may be superficially placed filler. If it is after the two week wait, you can have the filler reversed with hyaluronidase.

Personally 1.5ml is a lot on one sitting. I like to inject 0.5ml on the first visit then have the client come back 2-4 weeks later to inject the other half of the syringe. Answer: Let the bruise settle and then reassess Using arnica can help the bruise to settle quicker, I also advise using warm compresses twice a day to encourage blood flow after the swelling has settled.
