The larger nose and the photo of me out and about are the befores and the other photo is a simulation of what the surgeon could do for me. What are your thoughts? The aim is to look prettier and I am figuring out how to do that.

Answer: Reduction rhinoplasty Thank you for your enquiry and sharing your photographs. In general, a narrower appearance of the nasal bridge and tip has a tendency to highlight the appearance of the eyes both on front view and semi profile. This is generally coming across as a softer appearance of the facial features and flattering in many instances. It depends of course what are your aesthetic preferences and goals but it does not sound like there is a conflict between the suggestion of your surgeon and your stated aim for the surgical transformation.

Answer: Rhinoplasty and lip lift The base of your nose is quite broad but has been reduced in your simulated photograph. Another thing to consider other than a rhinoplasty is a lip lift. A lip lift does 4 things: shortens the distance between your nose and upper lip, increases the mucosa of the upper lip, increases the incisor show and pulls up the corners. I believe this would make even more significant improvement. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.
