Hi, I want to get SMP done on parts of the side of my head to fill up some small gaps, someone said to me that you have to keep going back to get SMP redone. Is it not a permanent solution?
Answer: Scalp MicroPigmentation or SMP is basically a tattoo. It should last as a high quality tattoo. SMP (like tattoos) will fade Scalp MicroPigmentation or SMP is basically a tattoo. It should last as a high quality tattoo. SMP (like tattoos) will fade slightly over time. Most people do not need a touch up but some "want" a touch up to enhance the look when it slightly fades.

Answer: Scalp micropigmentation SMP, or scalp micropigmentation, is a painless procedure that uses highly specialized equipment and unique techniques to carefully and expertly inject all-natural, color-tailored pigments into the scalp creating a completely natural look of the patient’s hairline. A typical procedure involves an initial consultation and two pigmentation sessions to achieve the desired results. You can wash your head the fourth day after the treatment and, during that time, avoid any strenuous activity that will prompt undesired sweating. Once the procedure is complete, the results of a Scalp Micropigmentation treatment can last up to five years. Since SMP is like a high-quality tattoo, patients tend to come up for touchups to ensure pristine longitudinal aesthetic results. At the Foundation for Hair Restoration in NYC, I work with the world-renowned hair expert Dr.Jeffrey Epstein and his team to create beautiful, natural results for any hair type. Consult with an experienced hair restoration surgeon for a complete range of options that are appropriate for your situation.

Answer: Scalp Pigmentation Scalp pigmentation is not permanent. The pigments used and the application of the pigments is different to that of a traditional body art tattoo. The scalp tattoo will gradually fade overtime as the pigment starts to fade. The environmental exposure can increase how fast the pigment fades as well as general skin characteristics. Different scalp pigment techniques may last longer than others. It may take a few sessions to build up to what is considered to be the final result. Then pigments can last a few months to a few years before fading effects the look. Also progressive hair loss will need to be treated with more pigment touch ups to hide.

Answer: Depends on the ink Hello Misterpete,It all depends on the ink used. We utilize a natural ink that starts fading through the years. T his allows you to either get touch ups through the years to maintain it, or modify. It all comes to your preference. Also, the non-permanent ink is easier to get rid of, in case you are not satisfied or need any modifications to the work done.

Answer: SMP If SMP is performed with permanent pigments, then yes it will last for years; however, some offer temporary pigments which disappear in 1-2 years requiring returning every 1-2 years to have it done. That makes no sense to me
