Hi there, I am planning on getting chin liposuction to lose my turkey neck double chin (hereditary) and have a more defined jaw line. I know there are several different types of liposuction but which would be the best method to get the best results? I am not worried about price or recovery, just whichever method will give the best result ideally with the smallest scar. Any advice would me much appreciated! Thank you

Answer: Best method for fat removal on the neck In the neck, there are 2 compartments of fat, above and below the platysma muscle. In our office, we perform open liposuction of the fat above the platysma muscle, and surgically dissect out the fat underneath the platysma muscle. A platysma plasty is also required to given more jawline definition. This procedure is considered in neck lift without any skin removal and is accomplished with 2 small incisions behind the ears and a one-inch incision underneath the chin. When there is excess skin present in the neck and patients are over 50 years of age, a lower face and neck lift is required.
