FUE transplant hairs very coarse and kinky! Is this something that is likely to change?

18 months after FUE, of which the results were good in my opinion, the transplanted individual hairs are quite different characteristically to the 'native' hairs; really coarse, kinky and different texture. Is this something that is likely to change or do they generally retain their original characteristics from the donor zone?

Hair texture kinky after hair transplants. This always occurs after transplants—and it usually stays the way. It is less with fine blond hair. This does not occur with the Flap procedure we developed 44 years ago.

If you are concerned please follow up with your doctor for an exam. The hair may initially grow different in texture compared to the native hair.

I have seen a few cases where texture changes produced kinky hair. This has been permanent and when I repeated the hair transplant in these few patients, the second hair transplant became kinky also
