I really would appreciate an answer on this, as it's been 2 years. Xmas 2016 I had Restylane injected in tear trough. I had a reaction to this where my eyes were excessively swollen. I had this removed with hylorondase. They tried a very small amount of threads, which did not work. For 2 years I have been left with 2 small mounds on the top of the cheek to the eye, and can only put this down to festoons? I have had plasma felc hence the brown marks currently. It's like persistent swelling (festoons)

Answer: You probably still have Hyaluronic acid filler in the cheek.
Thank you for your question. I would recommend following up with your injector about this swelling area. That does not appear to be normal swelling after lip filler injections. If need be you can dissolve that filler. Best of luck, Dr. Heffernan
Your result is common with inexperienced tear trough injectors. they most likely used a “series technique” with a regular beveled sharp needle versus the cannula technique. They also placed TOO MUCH filler material. The fillers will resorb or go away but unfortunately not until up ...
Keep in mind, it takes a series of treatments to fully dissolve filler and it's difficult to determine how many treatments you would need. However, it should not cause problems long-term.
