Does a FUE beard transplant leave obvious scarring?

All cuts or incisions on the skin will leave some form of a scar.  Each person may heal or scar differently.  Some may not notice much scarring.  Some may notice extensive scarring. Scarring from FUE may be an issue as you may see in the thousands of posts here.It would be beneficial to see a doctor to explore your options.

If a beard transplant is done correctly, there should be little to no obvious scarring. The instruments used to make the sites are very small and make incisions that are just the size of a hair follicle. However, there will be some scarring on the back of the scalp where the hair was harvested from. 

Nope- the only scars should be from where the hair was taken, in this case on the back of your head. As long as you don't buzz your head the scarring there shouldn't be noticeable.

Creating a gotee is something that is done with hair transplants. When done properly there should be no scarring in the gotee area

fue refers to harvesting of follicular units of hair from the donor zone which is located in the back of your head. It does not refer to the technique used to make the recipient sites in the beard area. This reciepient area should be prepped and done using fine needles very meticulously. If done by a specialized hair transplant surgeon, you should not have any scaring in the beard or reciepient area.
