Dear Doctors, pictures taken 12 months after 3000 grafts transplant and a close straight razor shave above red line: heavily transplanted area between lines: moderately transplanted Complaints: -the dark color surrounding the grafts -the skin is bumpy, is this cobblestoning? My doctor says this is the best we could do as your skin is light and your hair is dark, he suggested getting a tan and laser removing individual grafts. Are there any other treatments that could improve my condition?

Answer: It is difficult to see the discoloration or cobble stoning on your photos. There isn't much you can do at this point.
It is normal for the transplanted hair to shed. After the surgery, the hair will enter a "sleep phase" where there is no hair growing. At eight months to a year, you should see fuller results from your transplant.
Any hair removal may leave permanent scarring. The scarring may not be an issue overall. It is best to discuss your risk with the person that will be performing the procedure.
Success rate of facial/beard hair transplant or any cosmetic surgery is largely dependent on the doctor or clinic that consistently produce successful results.
