What will 480cc UHP implants look like on me and will the give me the DD cup I'm wanting? (photos)

Thanks for posting your question.Ultra high profile implants will give you a very "augmented" look, as opposed to a natural look. If this is what you are after, then they might be the right sort of implants to choose.However, bra sizing is very unscientific, and there is no way of guaranteeing that a particular implant will get you to a specific bra size. Most women will find they can go to several different bra shops and come out with a variety of bra sizes after all!The best thing is to consult with a plastic surgeon in person who can measure your breasts and chest and discuss with you the best implant to achieve your goals.Good luck!

Thanks for your question.  You're correct that the result of a certain implant size looks very different on each person and even the bra size achieved will different.  The person's own breast and body type affects the outcome.  Rather than focusing on a particular bra size I would suggest consulting with your surgeon and trying on sizers to get a better sense of the best implants for your body type.

It is very difficult to determine the exact size and shape implant you will require to best match your ideal breast image without an examination by a board certified plastic surgeon. A "DD" breast may differ in size depending on Bra manufacturer or even person to person. You need to select an experienced plastic surgeon. Not just any board certified plastic surgeon, but one with many years of frequently performing breast augmentation surgery including different approaches, techniques and implant choices. This is because several measurements not to mention your breast characteristics are needed to determine the optimal implant size to obtain your goals. Without knowing these dimensions it would be difficult to make this determination. For example, the existing base width of your breast will determine, in many cases, the maximal volume per implant profile that you can accommodate. To illustrate; a 100 cc difference may make a significant difference with a narrow base width breast, but much less of a difference if you have a wide chest wall and wide breast “foot print”. Therefore, just because your friend may have a great result with let’s say a 350 cc implant to make her go from a “A” cup to a “C” cup size does not mean that you will have the same result with the same size implant. . Further simply placing implants in a bra to determine the size best for you is not always accurate as the bra often distorts the size, is dependent on the pressure the bra places plus the implant is outside your breast and not under it among other variables. Computer software morphing programs that automatically determine the best implant size can be helpful in some but not all cases (e.g. doesn’t work well in my experience with existing implants, sagging or asymmetric breasts). Using “want to be” photos however are useful if simply provided to the surgeon as I will further explain in the below link.

In my practice, we select the profile based on the desired breast implant size and base diameter of the breast.  Without examining you, it is not possible to determine which profile and size would be appropriate for you.  Please discuss this further with a board certified plastic surgeon who can give you better advice than what can be given in this forum.

Take a couple ziplock bags and use your kitchen measuring cups to measure out rice in those bags around the size your are considering.  Wear those for a day and see if you like that size and weight.  Adjust accordingly to get your ideal size.

Hi thereThanks for your question.Sizing is very much an individual process and using the rice bag trick or Biodimensional sizers which I use in my practice can be very useful to help you come to a final decision.Based on your pictures alone with your start off breast, you should get a very nice result regardless of the size. However, I agree with one of the other comments that a smaller size might still get you to the approximate cup size that you desire but please remember it is much better to think of absolute volumes rather than cup sizes as bra manufacturers in the UK are all very different. Profiles can be very confusing to most patients and I tend not to use this as virtually all implants we use are high profile! The projection of an implant (the profile) is a consequence of your breast width and the size implant you are hoping for.Good luck

You can use regular HP to get DD. of course  there are always options but the UHP may look too tall and fake but it may make you happy. Good Luck!

Based on your photograph, I think that you are starting at a good place and should have a very nice outcome with breast augmentation surgery.  You are correct in that it is not necessarily helpful to use other women's photographs and the size of breast implants they utilized as a direct reference to your own case.  

Generally speaking, the best online advice I can give to ladies who are considering breast augmentation surgery (regarding breast implant type/size/profile selection) is:

1. Concentrate on choosing your plastic surgeon carefully. Concentrate on appropriate training, certification, and the ability of the plastic surgeon to achieve the results you are looking for. Ask to see lots of examples of his/her work.
2. Have a full discussion and communication regarding your desired goals with your plastic surgeon. This communication will be critical in determining breast implant size/type/profile will most likely help achieve your goals.
In my practice, the use of photographs of “goal” pictures (and breasts that are too big or too small) is very helpful. In bra sizers can be useful communication tools also. I have found that the use of words such as “natural” or "DD+ cup" etc means different things to different people and therefore prove unhelpful.
Also, as you know, cup size varies depending on who makes the bra; therefore, discussing desired cup size may also be inaccurate. The use of computer imaging may be very helpful during the communication process.
3. Once you feel you have communicated your goals clearly, allow your plastic surgeon to use his/her years of experience/judgment to choose the breast implant size/profile that will best meet your goals. Again, in my practice, this decision is usually made during surgery ( after the use of temporary intraoperative sizers).
