Hello, I'm 21 years old and can't grow a full beard. I can grow decent hair on my chin and a decent moustache that doesn't connect to my chin hair. My sideburns have weak growth, are short and don't grow evenly on each side. I have just about 12 hairs on one side of my cheeks and about 8 on the other side. No hair grows at all on my jawline. Is this type of growth going to remain this way for the rest of my life?

Answer: Beard hair Growing beard hair is genetic. Some people grow beard at a later age or won’t grow at all. It all depends on your genes.

Answer: Beard growth Many young men want to accelerate their beard growth and ask about it. It takes age (genetic triggers which occur in family lines) so if you want to find out when your beard will grow out, you need to find out when your father or grandfather started to grow their beard. Hormones should have kicked in nicely by the time a man reaches 18 but he must wait out his genetics as hormone alone are not responsible for the onset of beard grown. The drug minoxidil may help. Beard transplants can be done when the young man is a bit older (over 25) if the beard has not grown in yet
