Greetings! Today while washing my hair, few hairs fallen out, what concerned me this hairs circled in red which have bulb by its end! Was wondering if this is the normal shading of my transplanted hair or am loosing my grafts because I did something wrong. Can I rub my ttansplanted hair and shower normally after 16 days post op. ? All responses are appreciated!

What you are experiencing is shedding of the transplanted hair shaft-this is perfectly normal as the follicle is safe below the skin and will soon sprout a new hair.At this point you can rub your head,shower,do whatever you want and the grafts will be safe.Please check with your surgeon first.

It is normal to shed transplanted hairs weeks after surgery.  The new hairs may take 6 to 12 months to grow.

Being only 16 days post op, it is normal to start the shedding process. Most of the grafts transplanted will start to shed roughly around day 8 to 10 and will continue to do so. What you see should be normal part of the recovery. Give yourself atleast 4 months to see good amount of hair growth and 6 months to achieve 50% growth and up to 14 months to achieve full  growth. These hairs and grafts will sooner or later shed. They are never a problem for new hairs that start to grow. Usually, there is a lag time between the time the hairs shed (2-8 weeks) and the time the new hair grows (3-8 months). IF for any reason, there is an overlap between the two, pay no attention to it for when the new hair grows, the old hairs from the grafts that may persist beyond 8 weeks, will eventually shed
