How to shorten a long nose and midface? (Photos)

You do have what one would classify as  a long face. Typically it is dealt with by oral surgeons and orthodontist, not plastic surgeons. However we often get to perform the rhinoplasty on these patients. But start with an oral surgeon and facial X-rays.   then see a plastic surgeon if you like after the oral surgeon.

In traditional Rhinoplasty, surgical instruments known as rasps and osteotomies (hammer and chisel) are used to reshape the nasal bones by removing the hump and/or narrowing the nasal bone width. Based on these photos you seem to have perfectly proportional face; there is no evidence of mid-face being disproportional in relationship to upper and lower face. It appears that well executed rhinoplasty would be all what you need to further improve balance of your face. In person consultation with a board certified plastic or ENT  surgeon with good reputation in rhinoplasty is recommended. Good luck.

First of all, your nose and your chin are in a relationship just like everyone else's.  However, your nose is too dominant and your chin, too recessive.  A chin implant would do so many good things for you and go a long way towards giving you a more balanced, and therefore more attractive appearance.Your nose looks long which adds to the oblong appearance of your face.  There is a straight shot from your eyebrows to the tip of your nose.  The highest point on your nose should be the tip of your nose.  However, on you, the highest projecting point on your nose is on the dorsum rather than at the tip end of your nose.  Cephalic rotation or a tip graft on your nose would shorten the appearance of your nose, and therefore your midface.  I highly recommend you seek out at least three Board Certified plastic surgeons whose before and after pictures show both technical skill and an artistic bend.  You have a handsome face that needs minor modifications.

Based on your photographs, you may benefit from a tip refining rhinoplasty and a cephalic rotation of your tip to turn up your tip slightly.  This will help to shorten your nose.  Regarding your midface, an in-person evaluation would be helpful.  Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and not just a computer animation system.  You should be able to view numerous pictures of actual patients with noses similar to yours performed by your surgeon.  If you cannot find enough real before and after pictures, then consider continuing your search for a surgeon. Overall, you have a nice face that can be improved with a conservative male rhinoplasty. Your side profile view shows that you could benefit from a chin implant that will give better balence to the lower third of your face and a better relationship to your nose. I recommend that you have a consultation with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon who is experienced with rhinoplasty. Not sure about the whole long face syndrome - I don’t appreciate that from your pictures.  
What is clear is that your nose is a bit dominant for your face.  This could be helped with rhinoplasty in combination with a genioplasty.  My preference is to perform osseus genioplasty as we can also fine tune also the height of your lower face and avoid an implant.  

I believe that you would be very happy with a well designed rhinoplasty surgery that includes reducing the length of your nose and adding a slight rotation to the tip that will help balance your facial aesthetics nicely. A chin implant may also be helpful in combination. I would suggest seeking consultations with experts in the field that have digital imaging. Imaging will allow you to see the proposed changes these procedures would provide and then you can make an informed decision if these changes would provide you with your desired results.
