Will 1 liter of fat transfer be enough to make a difference in a Brazilian Butt Lift? (photos)

based on your photos, you look like a good candidate for a BBL. Liposuction of your abdomen, back and flanks should give you more curves and hourglass shape and fat transfer to buttocks should give you more projection. I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon because only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.

One liter of fat is approximately 1000ccs; 500 ccs in each buttock. The final shape of the buttocks is largely determined by the starting anatomy, the distensibility of the tissues injected, and the surgical skill employed by the plastic surgeon. Significant volume can be added to the buttocks, producing much larger, more projected buttocks. The fat is expertly placed to produce very shapely, custom tailored buttocks. Even large defects in the buttocks or marked asymmetry can be remedied with this fat transfer technique. Certain aspects of the buttocks or hips may not be improved as much if the tissues do not allow for much stretch or cannot accommodate the fat that is transferred. In these cases, the final result will be limited by the skin envelope. This is an issue that cannot be completely controlled by the surgeon. Finally, the ability of some patients to heal and retain more of the fat than another patient accounts for differences in shape and result following BBL.
Also realize that 50% of the fat may not survive.

Thanks for the question and provided information as well.
Based on your pictures, you are a great candidate for liposuction with BBL, and I think you'll get very good results. To determine the right amount of CC's to transfer in a BBL, an in-person consultation is in order, because it depends on a number of factors.
Liposuction allows your plastic surgeon to transform your entire shape. You can improve your abdomen, hips, back and flanks, and of course your buttock, to give you a nice heart shape.
In general, you need to be physically healthy and at a stable weight, have realistic expectations, be a non-smoker and your BMI needs to be 33 or less.
l recommend you to make an appointment with a board certified plastic surgeon to talk about your goals and anything you need to know.

You are a great candidate for the BBL procedure. You have ample fat on your sides and lower back which post liposuction will give you a very nice shape as well as sculpting the top of your buttocks. The addition of 500cc of fat grafting to each buttocks should make a large difference in your buttock shape and size.

I’m assuming your procedure will be done in Florida since that’s the only state that has the draconian limits.

There are a lot of variables that need to be taken into consideration when answering your question.

For example if the 1000 mL a fat being grafted is pure centrifuged fat than it is probably sufficient to get close to an ideal results.

There are a lot of steps in the process and the question is at what point is the 1000 mL determined.

The rule in Florida is the restriction on fat harvesting not fat grafting.

Fat harvested initially comes out as part watery fluid and part fat. This emulsified mixture begins separating immediately but continues to separate for many hours after it’s been removed. The separation process can be accelerated by the use of a centrifuge.

If the 1 L limit is adhered to immediately upon cessation of liposuction than the actual amount of fat will be less than 1000 mL. That’s because at this point in the process as much as 40% of the fat removed is actually water. If that fat is then centrifuged less than a liter of fat will have been removed and more fat is allowed to be harvested. This can be done until a true 1000 mL of centrifuge fat has been harvested then this is equivalent to far more than 1000 mL of fat being removed with Liposuction.

The law does not describe at what point in the process the volume is measured.

500 mL of pure fat that’s been centrifuged per side is plenty for an almost ideal BBL on most patients while 500 mL of fat containing almost half water will be insufficient.

Maximizing what can be achieved and still staying within Florida laws can require cumbersome time consuming work in the operating room that wouldn’t be necessary if the law wasn’t there.

Perhaps you’re not in Florida and your doctor simply has told you that 1 L is the limit. Your post it’s fine but in order to accurately answer your question there’s a lot more information that’s needed. For that reason you should discuss this in depth with your provider.

If you have not had in person consultations then I would highly recommend doing so.

The decision should be made between you and your provider not based on doctors who respond to your posting on real self.
