I have a bbl procedure scheduled for 17 September 2021. I will be flying out 25 September. My surgery will be in Miami and I will be flying back nine to Washington DC. I made sure to get a direct flight which is excepted to take 2.5 hours. Should I be worried about the flight duration after 8 days?
Answer: Should Not Be A Problem Hi thank you for your question. A week’s time after BBL is good enough to become mobile. However, to avoid any discomfort during your travel you can sit on a BBL pillow or rolled up towel behind the knees to keep your buttocks elevated and free from any pressure. In case you are traveling business class then it will allow you to be on your stomach or side.

Answer: Can I fly 8 days after BBL Hi, thanks for your question. Flying 8 days after your BBL sounds much too soon. We typically recommend that our patients don't sit on their bum or lie flat on their back for at least two weeks following surgery. Given that you'll have to sit for 2.5 hours or more during your flight, this does not sound like a good idea. Ultimately, you need to follow your surgeon's pre and post-operative guidelines carefully, so I recommend that you discuss your plans with them. That said, we generally don't encourage traveling for surgery, as it's best when your surgeon can follow you personally from start to finish as they know your case best. Be sure to have a surgeon that will agree to follow you in Washington, in case any issues in your recovery arise.

Answer: Postoperative protocol Dear budydn, I understand your concern. It is best that you consult your plastic surgeon regarding post operative care and management (i.e including massage techniques and timing) specific to your case. Your surgeon knows your condition well and has preferences on when and what to use for faster healing and recovery. Post operative care and management depends on the type of surgery performed and the technique used during surgery among other factors. It is best, however, that you follow your plastic surgeon's advice on post operative care management for a smooth and faster healing and recovery. Answer: Can I fly 8 days after my BBL, flight is 2.5 hours? Hello dear!! Thanks for the question and provided information as well. I recommend my patients to wait at least 10 days before flying back home, and you should not sit for more than 30 mins. every two hours, for the first 2 weeks, and always with the help of a boppy pillow. If you have any concerns, I suggest you follow up close with your plastic surgeon. Hope this is helpful. Good luck :)
